Morrow Mountain State Park
Morrow Mountain connects an overlook and wooded trails with the upper end of Lake Tillery. It is a natural starting point for a day with both park time and a look at the water.

Park gates: December–February 7 AM–7 PM; March and November 7 AM–8 PM; April and October 7 AM–9 PM; May–September 7 AM–10 PM. Day-use areas close one hour before the gates. Park office daily 8 AM–4:30 PM; museum daily 10 AM–5 PM. Park-office hours may change on state holidays and weekends.

Recommended
The summit, campground, boat ramp and boathouse are separate stops within the park. Seasonal rentals and gate times appear on the park's current notices. The park lists its swimming pool as closed for the 2026 season.
Choose the park stop before setting out
A campsite, a rental at the boathouse and a launch at the ramp each need their own arrangements. Use the monthly gate schedule above; day-use areas close an hour before the gate. The summit, campground and waterfront are separate arrivals on the park map.
For a wedding, athletic event or company gathering, ask park staff at 704-982-4402 about a planning tour and the fees or permits your gathering may need. Some large events require a Special Activity Permit; apply at least 14 days ahead for consideration. An application is not approval or a facility reservation.

The Campground / Pool Trail name does not mean the swimming pool is open; the pool is closed for the 2026 season. Trail closures, weather and day-use cutoffs need their own check.
