Visit Lake Tillery is an independent local guide maintained by a Lake Tillery resident, using firsthand local knowledge, original photography, primary sources and ongoing corrections from the community.
The guide is independent of government and tourism agencies. For warnings, closures and property rules, the responsible agency or operator remains the authority.
Factual listings and corrections are not sold. Business Spotlight is independently selected editorial coverage, not paid inventory. Any approved advertising is clearly labeled and does not change factual information.
How we handle live information
Weather, alerts and lake readings come from separate official sources. Delayed information stays dated, and a missing lake reading does not erase an available forecast. Warnings take priority; conditions can still change once you’re on the water.
Usage and privacy
When enabled, usage measurement counts daily page views and actions such as opening directions or copying a calendar link. It uses no tracking cookies or persistent visitor IDs, and does not record itinerary query strings, custom addresses or IP addresses in those counters. A share or calendar click is an attempt, not proof of a post or subscription.
An owner exclusion preference is stored as a yes/no choice on that browser, with a matching first-party cookie; review tabs use a temporary yes/no exclusion. Neither identifies a visitor. Clearing browser storage can reset these choices. Returning browsers and unique people are not measured.
Photo appreciations count actions, not distinct people. Contributions and optional contact details stay in a private review queue; they are not posted automatically. Contribution privacy and photo terms →

QA and shared-page checks
Start every fresh review tab with a direct VLT URL containing vlt_test=1, before interacting. This tab remembers review mode across navigation, redirects that remove the marker and reloads when session storage is available. Local development/loopback pages are excluded automatically. Open recipient links in a separately marked review tab; the marker is never added to public sharing links.
