Visit Lake Tillery is not an official weather, emergency, park, wildlife, or lake-operator service.
The main forecast represents central Lake Tillery. Separate north- and south-lake forecasts help show differences around the lake. Each forecast keeps the issue time supplied by NWS.
A forecast is current for less than 6 hours. From 6 to 9 hours it is delayed; from 9 to 18 hours it is older but may still provide clearly dated context. At 18 hours, or without a valid issue time, its forecast periods are withheld. Delayed information is never described as a fresh update.
Active NWS alerts are checked separately from the forecast. A successful check can confirm an applicable alert or confirm that none was returned.
If the alert request fails, its state is indeterminate. That is not an all-clear, and the guidance remains conservative.
The latest KVUJ observation provides nearby context for temperature, wind, gusts, and general conditions.
It is an airport observation, not a measurement taken on Lake Tillery. It can be stale or unavailable without invalidating a separately verified forecast.
NOAA NWPS gauge MTGN7 reports pool elevation at the Lake Tillery dam and identifies the observation source as USGS station 02123736. Visit Lake Tillery preserves both the observation and record-generation timestamps.
The source normally publishes sub-daily observations. A reading under three hours old is current. From three through 24 hours it remains useful only as a clearly labeled, exact-time “latest available” reading during a short outage. At 24 hours it leaves the current display; any saved point remains dated history. The 24-hour hard cutoff spans multiple expected updates without implying that a day-old value describes present operations.
The relative display uses the licensed 278.2-foot NGVD 1929 full-pond elevation. The USGS station record and NOAA pool series use the compatible elevation basis, so no datum conversion is applied. The absolute NOAA elevation remains visible as secondary context.
The gauge supplies recent observations for the chart. Where saved observations are available, they extend that history. The coverage dates describe the series actually shown; gaps and revisions are preserved.
Twenty-four-hour and seven-day changes appear only when timestamped observations sufficiently bracket those comparison times. A missing trend does not suppress an independently usable current or delayed value.
The reading is not used to infer flooding, ramp access, dock clearance, navigability, or boating safety. NOAA supplies observations for this point, not a lake-level forecast.
USGS station 0212378405 measures the Pee Dee River below Tillery Dam. Its water-quality data are seasonal and may be provisional.
This is not a Lake Tillery surface-temperature reading and is not presented in the primary conditions experience. It remains documented here only to prevent the downstream measurement from being mistaken for an in-lake observation.
Visit Lake Tillery checks NC DEQ's public fish-kill and algal-bloom records, NC Wildlife's boating-access closure table, and Morrow Mountain State Park's facility status separately. One source failure does not erase usable results from another.
Only safe agency-owned incident fields are requested from NC DEQ. Reporter identity, contact details, addresses, geometry, and narrative submissions are not requested or displayed. An incident record is not itself a swimming advisory or a finding that the whole lake is affected.
A quiet monitored list is deliberately narrow: it is not proof that every access, park facility, or area of the lake is unaffected. Retrieval time, attribution, source state, and a direct source link remain visible.
Each event keeps its organizer or authority link. After 14 days without a fresh review, it carries a reminder to confirm the date. Completed events leave the current calendar; their detail pages may remain clearly labeled as past events. A previous year’s listing alone does not establish a new date.
New event suggestions are reviewed before publication. A recurring event needs a confirmed date from its organizer; last year’s schedule is not enough.

Visit Lake Tillery does not scrape or republish articles, broadcasts, legal notices, posts, comments, photos, member information, or search snippets, and none of those sources controls conditions or safety guidance.
The regional relevance rule is deliberately conservative: direct Lake Tillery and Yadkin–Pee Dee effects qualify first; nearby utility, road, park, emergency, or facility impacts qualify only when they could reasonably change a lake resident's or visitor's plans; an Albemarle, Troy, or wider Uwharrie item must be exceptionally significant to enter a concise regional view. Geography or keyword matching alone is insufficient.
