Gallery, café or a workshop?
Browse exhibitions and shop for artist-made gifts in the School House Gallery. The gallery also leads to the glass, ceramics and metal studios, open to visitors while artists are working.
For a hands-on session, choose a dated workshop and read its booking and participant requirements. The café has longer hours than the gallery on Thursday–Saturday; a late café visit is not the same as an open studio visit.
The café serves specialty coffee, smoothies, soups, sandwiches and snacks, with beer, wine and cider in the taproom. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the café on a leash.
The School House Gallery is free to visit. Watching the glass studio work is different from booking a workshop: public viewing can pause for field trips, private lessons, lunch or maintenance. If seeing glassmaking is the reason for the trip, call the gallery at 910-428-9001 on the day you plan to visit.
Groups can enquire about a separately arranged studio demonstration. A gallery visit does not reserve a demonstration or a hands-on session.
The public can browse Starworks’ physical Resource Library during School House Gallery opening hours. Books, magazines, catalogues and DVDs cover arts and crafts, including woodworking, painting, glassblowing and ceramics. This is a browsing option alongside the gallery, not a promise of a workshop, lending access or a glass demonstration.
