Hours source & corrections

Based on published America/New_York hours, not live venue confirmation. Unlisted days and unverified holiday changes remain uncertain. Meal availability can have a separate cutoff. Routine monthly rechecking does not make a supported schedule disappear when due. Structured sources can be checked automatically; other sources need manual review.

Before a day-use visit

Pavilion reservations do not close the public parking area. The official pages disagree about drinking water and closing time; bring water and confirm the day’s hours with the ranger district.

Alcohol is not permitted in the day-use area.

For a small picnic, 34 individual sites are free and unreserved. The group pavilion is reservation-only; booking it does not close the day-use area or reserve the other tables. It has eight picnic tables, two large charcoal grills and electrical outlets, but no built-in lighting.

The specific GS01 AM (Monday–Friday) booking lists up to 70 people, 7 AM–2 PM. Confirm your date, charge and booking confirmation; this slot does not resolve the area's separately conflicting general closing time.

Two marked accessible parking spaces are near the pavilion. Other drivers may unload supplies, then move to proper parking. The pavilion is described as accessible, not every site or the fishing pier: retain the pier-construction warning and bring drinking water.

Visiting details

The floating fishing pier is under renovation, estimated through spring 2027; smaller piers may also have construction restrictions. Check the specific pier before a fishing or accessibility-dependent visit. Shore fishing remains permitted under the official notice.
