The Forest Service recommends Art Lilley, Falls Dam or Dutch John trailheads as starting points. Cotton Place, at the east end of Daniel Trail, is extremely difficult and is not recommended for beginners or stock four-wheel-drive vehicles.
The seasonal closure also covers Art Lilley Campground. Badin Lake and Lake Tillery are separate lakes.
Visiting details
The published seasonal closure is December 15–April 1, with dates subject to weather. Check current Forest Service alerts before riding; a permit is not an access confirmation.
